Daily Run of Show Prefill from Calendar + Tasks

Auto-generate a daily operating brief with today’s meetings and priority tasks so teams start the day aligned.

Overview

Teams often keep meetings in Google Calendar and tasks in separate systems, which makes morning planning fragmented. This workflow generates a single run-of-show document that surfaces today’s schedule and must-do tasks in one place. It standardizes the format so anyone can scan it quickly.

How It Works

A scheduled job pulls today’s Google Calendar agenda (including location and attendees) and the day’s Todoist tasks, then formats them into markdown tables. The automation inserts these sections at the top of the daily run-of-show note and refreshes them without duplicating blocks. The result is ready before the workday begins.

Outcome

The organization gets a consistent daily briefing that reduces missed context and eliminates manual copying from multiple tools. Stakeholders can see meeting load, locations, and attendee context alongside task priorities. The run-of-show becomes a reliable single source of truth for the day.
